I have been a member of staff at DTU since 2009. I am Associate Professor in the Section for Aquaculture under the National Institute of Aquatic Resources at the Technical University of Denmark.
I work on the physiology of fishes in aquaculture and on technical aspects of recirculating aquaculture systems. A lot of my research is performed in the laboratory, but we have excellent collaboration with the Danish aquaculture industry, and a lot of my work is also done in the field at different model trout farms in Denmark. I also teach courses on applied biology in aquaculture and on recirculating aquaculture systems.
I am a biologist by education. I received my Masters degree from the University of Copenhagen in 2000 and travelled to Australia to complete my PhD which I obtained from University of Queensland in 2004. Following my PhD I worked at University of Copenhagen for 5 years before taking up my current position.
