Sanshui Xiao obtained his PhD degree in 2004. In August 2004, he joined the Royal Institute of Technology as a post-doc researcher. In 2006, he started to work at the Technical University of Denmark, and he is now holding Associate Professor there. His current research interests are centered on nanophotonics, plasmonics, graphene and their potential applications in optoelectronics and energy harvesting. He has been involving several network activities with Chinese universities. He has co-organized several sessions at PIERS and EMN conference. He obtained the European Optics Prize 2008 from the European Optical Society.
