Complex Motion in Fluids 2026

Welcome to the 13th international Summer School Complex Motion in Fluids (CMiF) organized by Technical University of Denmark in collaboration with University of Cambridge (UK), Ecole Polytechnique (F), and University of Twente (NL) continuing more than 20 years of history of CMiF summer schools. Please download the CMiF 2026 flyer (hi-res pdf 18 MB, low-res pdf 3 MB) for distribution among colleagues, postdocs, and students.

Program (pdf)
The topics for 2026 include microfluidics for biology and technology, fluid-solid interactions, and soft Earth geophysics, and they are presented by seven international lecturers each giving a set of  one 1½-hour and one 1-hour lecture (see the program). Traditionally, all attendees (PhD students, postdocs, and researchers) are presenting their own research in a 12-minutes contributed talk and/or at one of the two poster sessions.

The venue: How to reach DTU from Copenhagen (pdf)
CMiF 2026 takes place at Technical University of Denmark (DTU, www.dtu.dk) situated in Kongens Lyngby just 15 km north of Copenhagen city center. The accommodation is at Hotel Four Points Flex by Sheraton Lyngby (website) a short 800 m walk from the lecture hall Glassalen at DTU. DTU and the hotel can be reached in about 1 hour by public transportation from Copenhagen International Airport as explained here (transport pdf).

Preregistration, registration, and fee (registration page)
The pre-registration is open on a first come, first served basis. Later, in April, the full registration opens including payment of the school fee. Participation in the summer school costs 900 EUR, which covers room (a shared two-person room), all meals, and lectures from Sunday 9 August late afternoon to Friday 14 August early afternoon.

Abstract submission (instructions)
Participants in CMiF 2026 must by 1 June submit a two-page abstract. Submission instructions (pdf) as well as LaTeX and word templates are located under abstract submission. Abstract submission is not yet open.
